Right, not sure if you guys know this or not but this site isn't free to run. It costs me around £50+ a year for hosting, bandwidth etc. Now all the time me and torrance have put into running this site we've done for free. But i've been thinking that seeing as we are a community, maybe the community would want to help keep this place up and running.

Now I would never force anyone to donate money and you will never be charged to have access to the site. But the fact of the matter is, the site, which i do for fun, comes out of my pocket.

I'm not gonna beg for money or anything but if you donate just a few pounds it would really help the site and make it self sustaining and it would really help me out.

At the top of the index page you can see a paypal donation button. If you click on the link it goes through to a secure site where you can donate.

But what if i don't have a paypal account? That's not a problem, paypal accepts payment through loads of debit and credit cards.

I just want to say, this money will not be speant on booze, drugs, hookers, trips to the Caribbean and new computer games. All the money will go back into the site, keeping it up and running.

I want to thank everyone in advance for donating and please, enjoy the site.

No, i actually managed to sort that out with the help of moose. We shouldn't go down any more. But it is too pay for the 12Gb of bandwidth we have now.

It will be put back into the site. And if we get £250, which i really doubt, i'll cover the cost of the site for the next year and stick the rest as prizes in future competitions. Maybe buy the booze at the KH LAN, if we ever do one.

I won't be spending it on myself if that's what your thinking.

A fiver isn't a lot is it. I bloody put £6 a month into some charity for some old ladies in India that they send me a bloody photo of once a month. (I swear that it is the biggest scam ever) so for daily usage of this site I am sure that I could muster up a fiver and send it to ya.

Actually........

I will send the fiver but the deal is that whaenever I go on Gears to try to get my achievements and your online Zyber you HAVE TO come and help me get them, that way you dont get hit with a bill for a site that we all use and I get a slave to put people down for me in gears whilst I steal the kills!!! How does that sound?????

You don't need a paypal account danny, most debit or credit cards are accepted. But for the ema, you have to keep going to school for that LOL!

hmm, does this mean the shoutbox will make a return? And will it be possible to add a feature so we can see who is online on it?

Yes the shoutbox will be making a return in just a few days actually. As for seeing who's online...that might be a bit tough. You don't have to be registered to use it, so they wouldn't show up as a guest and seeing as the shoutbox refreshes every 5 seconds, it would actually mean more bandwidth being used to update that information as well and grabbing the relevant info from the database.

I'll have a think.
